First State Celebrates Older Worker's Week
As part of the celebration of "National Employ Older Workers Week" (September 18 - 24, 2011), First State's Senior Community Services Employment Program (SCSEP) recognized older workers, host agencies, training sites, and project staff in Sussex County who participated in the program. The celebration included a breakfast and awards ceremony where special honor was given to two individuals and two host agencies for their outstanding service and participation in the program.













Among the honorees
: 84 year old Ms. Johanna E. McCauley from Selbyville DE received an award for the "Oldest SCSEP Participant." 64 year old Shirley Arno from Georgetown was recognized as the program's "Outstanding Older Worker." Ms. Arno's hard work, dedication, and success in the program landed her a permanent job position at a homeless shelter in Sussex County. Executive Director Marie Morole accepted an award on behalf of Sussex Community Crisis Housing Services Inc. which received the "Employer of the Year." The Laurel Senior Center was recognized as the program's "Honorary Host Agency."
